Broke and struggling to make ends meet, the lottery winner who blew most of his $45 million jackpot now harbours thoughts of selling a luxurious Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck, which he bought when money was flowing.

"I want to sell the van and build up back my bank book," Michael McLean of Woodburn, St Thomas said.

The 56-year old won a $45 million Lotto jackpot in 2004, and among other things, purchased the Avalanche.

McLean told The STAR that he has no money to buy food on a regular basis. Out of his winnings, he can point to an unfinished eight-bedroom 'mansion' that and the faulty Chevrolet Avalanche that has been parked in his yard since 2010.

McLean, who is still buying the lottery, hoping that he will one day hit the jackpot again, said one of his relatives has so far persuaded him not to sell the Avalanche.

"My sister told me not to do it because I won't get the amount of money I want for it so it is best [that] we fix it and use it and roll out," McLean said.
