Baby injured as gunman shoots father
A man was shot and a baby boy he was carrying injured during an attack by a gunman in Rose Heights, St James, yesterday.
The 28-year-old man, who is from Bronx in Rose Heights, was shot in the groin and the baby injured after he fell from his arms.
The Mount Salem police, who have since launched a search for the gunman, said the man accompanied by his baby, was walking along the Rose Heights main road when they were pounced upon by the gunman who opened fire. It is understood that after the father was shot, the baby reportedly fell out of his arms on to the roadway and narrowly missed being hit by a passing motor vehicle.
The injured civilian was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he received treatment. He is reportedly in stable condition.
