Child falls from moving bus
An eight-year-old girl has been admitted to hospital after she fell from a moving school bus in St Catherine.
Annette Clarke told THE STAR that her daughter remains in hospital following the incident, which took place on April 13 along Augusta Drive, Passagefort in Portmore, St Catherine.
"The child was on her way to school in Southboro when the door fell off the bus and she fell outside," Clarke said.
"She damaged her left leg in the process," the mother added.
A woman who said she was the driver of the bus told THE STAR that the incident took place, but declined to say much more.
"Yes, it happened, but mi talk to mi lawyer and him said that I must not comment," the woman said.
Meanwhile, the distraught mother said her child did not receive proper medical attention after the incident. She said that the child was initially taken to the Spanish Town Hospital for treatment and was given prescription for medication.
"The child kept crying for pain in the leg so I took her to the Bustamante Hospital for Children and immediately she was admitted," a disgruntled Clarke said.
When THE STAR contacted the Caymanas police where the incident was reported, investigators said the matter is being probed.
