J'cans come close to Super Lotto win
Since January, 31, Jamaicans have been close to winning the Super Lotto jackpot, missing it by one number. This means 31 Jamaicans have each been made $2.2 million richer since the start of the year, as this is the standard payout. Likewise, since January to last month, the Super Lotto has paid out in excess of $4.3m in non-jackpot prizes.
One of the latest such winner is Elverton Jackson, who bought four quick print tickets in Hellshire, St Catherine, for the drawing on Tuesday, April 12.
Although Jackson missed the jackpot by only one number, he was still ecstatic at becoming a millionaire with his match 5 winnings. "To walk away with more than two million dollars, well, I am certainly happy for that!
The possibility of taking home such a HUGE jackpot is too much to ever pass up, so I will always buy my Super Lotto ticket," he said. "I used to choose numbers myself, but I have been playing only quick print for Super Lotto for the last year and a half. I usually match 1, 2 or 3 numbers and take home some winnings, but nothing like this jackpot!"
Super Lotto is drawn on Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:30 p.m. Players have the option of purchasing either a $300 ticket for the full jackpot, or a $200 ticket for a partial jackpot.
