Jamaica College to discuss no auxiliary fee
Jamaica College (JC) parents are expected to discuss on Monday the Government's recent no-auxiliary-fee announcement and its likely impact on the school's operations.
"We need to put this matter on the agenda at this time and also explain to parents that they will still have to make an annual financial contribution to the school's development," said Betty Ashley, vice-president of the parent-teacher association (PTA).
She said that the school's acting principal, Rohan Wong, would speak to the matter and urged parents to attend the meeting, which will start at 4 p.m. at the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium at the Old Hope Road-based institution.
Ashley said that JC is placing special emphasis on academic performance and indicated that a recently implemented policy would also be discussed at Monday's PTA general meeting.
