Cop found dead in St Elizabeth

The Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) have confirmed that a district constable was shot and killed in Lacovia, St. Elizabeth on Sunday.

Information reaching THE STAR is that the policeman was found dead in his Toyata Camry motorcar about 8pm.

He had gunshot wounds to his head and chest.

The deceased has been identified as 56-year-old Lewis Robinson, who was attached to the Santa Cruz Police station.

THE STAR understands that residents heard loud explosions and summoned the police. Robinson's body was found along the Lacovia Main Road.

The St. Elizabeth police say investigations are ongoing.
