Jamaican jailed in Cayman for child porn

A Jamaican national residing in Cayman, accused of having more than a thousand explicit images of children in his possession, was recently denied bail when he appeared in court.

Charged with 10 counts of possessing images and one count of distribution of an image of a child is 24-year-old Travorne Daley.

According to Cayman 27, Daley was arrested after United States authorities tipped off and passed on information to detectives in Cayman. As a result, the accused man's cellular phone and laptop computer were seized.

It is said that a search of both devices unearthed more than 1,000 images and more than 100 videos of children, thought to be indecent.

Daley is reportedly in Cayman on a work permit and was reportedly an employee of Burger King in the country. As reports surfaced, his contract was terminated.

In court, he was denied bail and ordered further remanded into custody. He is to reappear in court on May 31.
