St Catherine woman gets bail for cocaine

A St Catherine woman who was allegedly caught with cocaine weighing four pounds, was granted bail in the sum $160,000 in the St Catherine Parish Court. Charged with possession of cocaine is Shanique Morrison of Ellerslie Pen in Spanish Town.

When the matter came up for mention, attorney-at-law Sean Kinghorn made a successful bail application. He said that his client had cooperated with the police and is not a flight-risk.

Parish Judge Jacqueline Wilcott granted bail on condition that the accused reports three times weekly at the Spanish Town Police Station, and be home between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. daily. She is to also surrendered her travelling documents and reappear on July 26, 2016 when the matter will again be mention.

Allegations are that on May 17, 2016, the Spanish Town police conducted an operation in Ellerslie Pen. During the approach to a house, Morrison allegedly fled from the premises. She later surrendered herself with in the company of her attorney. Morrison was subsequently charged by the police.
