The Jamaica Constabulary Force is alerting persons, particularly those in corporate Jamaica, of an email, claiming to be from the police, which has been circulating. The email is sent from the domain jamaicanpolice.com, purports to have received a complaint against the recipient and advises the user to follow a series of instructions.

"This email was not sent by any arm or division of the Constabulary, and persons in receipt of this email are advised not to respond in any way, as it is suspected to be a phishing tool-designed to procure persons' personal data," the Corporate Communication Unit said in a release. " It is best to delete it immediately."

The Information and Communication Technology Division of the Force is now working along with Cybercrimes detectives to determine the source of the email.
