5-day clean up for West Central St Andrew

The National Inter-Ministerial Task Force will be conducting a five-day clean up exercise in communities in West Central St Andrew. The exercise will commence on Friday and end on Tuesday.

The task force, which is spearheaded by the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, was established by Prime Minister Andrew Holness to address the island's state of cleanliness.

The team which will comprise both technical and management staff of the local government ministry, the Ministry of Health, the NSWMA, SDC and NWA, will be actively engaged in the sensitisation of citizens and the removal of bulky waste. The team will be led by Holness and Local Government minister Desmond McKenzie.

The ministry said all stakeholders, including the media, are asked to meet at the Tower Hill Community Centre at 10 a.m. on Friday, before moving into the various communities for sensitization and waste collection.
