Bail extended for taximan on incest charge
A St Catherine man who was accused of sexually molesting his daughter two years ago had his bail extended until July 5.
When the matter came up in the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday, attorney-at-law Lancelot Clarke made a submission that the matter be dismissed. He told the court that the complainant in the matter has been reported missing since November last year.
Parish Judge Natalee Brooks, however, ruled that the matter be postponed and that notice be placed in the press.
Allegations are that in 2014, the accused was at home with the complainant, who he sexually assaulted. The 16-year-old wrote the sordid details inside a book while spending time with a friend.
The friend then reported the crime to the police and, following an investigation, the father was charged with incest.
