No change to Buju's release date
Contrary to information that has been popping up on various blogs and social media claiming that Buju Banton has received another discount on his prison sentence, official records indicate that the reggae superstar will remain locked up until 2018.
Rumours have been flying that the Gargamel is set for early release and could be sent home by next Christmas.
But the US Federal Bureau of Prisons indicated on its website yesterday that the artiste is still slated to be released on December 8, 2018.
Buju, who is serving 10 years for drug-related charges, was initially set to be released in February 2019. He is serving time in CI MCRAE, which is a contracted correctional institution operated by a private corporation.
Meanwhile, a check of the Federal Bureau of Prisons' database also indicates that there has been no change in the release date for Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke.

Coke, Jamaica's most notorious gang leader, was sentenced to 23 years in a federal US prison. He pleaded guilty in August 2011 to charges that included trafficking more than three tonnes of marijuana and 30lb (14kg) of cocaine to the United States.
