Westmoreland cops get tough on lawless motorists
The Westmoreland police say many motorists in the parish refuse to license their motor vehicles and vow to continue taking steps to curtail the lawlessness that exist in the western end of the island.
Speaking with THE STAR recently, top cop for the parish Senior Superintendent David White said the police have seized over 2,000 motor vehicles.
SSP White said, “People don’t want to insure motor vehicles. We have seized some of the motor cars, some owners have cleared and come back for them others have not.”
SSP White vowed to intensify operations.
The senior cop also told THE STAR that between the police and the transport authority, some 1,200 bikes have been seized since the start of the year.
