St James police investigate three murders

Detectives in St James are currently investigating three murders that took place in the parish between Monday and Wednesday.

In the first incident that occurred on Monday, the Montego Bay police were called to Sundowner Close in the parish at about 8:45 p.m., where a man was seen lying on the roadway with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at hospital. The deceased is of fair complexion, slim build, about 173 centimetres (5 feet 8 inches) long, and was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and a pair of brown slippers. He also had a blue cap in one hand.

It is alleged that a white Toyota Corolla motor car was observed speeding away from the area, and detectives are imploring anyone who may have more information about this motor car, or any other information that might lead to the perpetrators being caught and prosecuted, to contact them at 953-6191, Crime Stop at 311, police 119 emergency number, or the nearest police Station.

In the second incident, 22-year-old Alex Parkingson was shot and killed by unknown assailant/s in his community, Vietnam district, on Wednesday at about 8:30 a.m. It is said that residents heard explosions and summoned the police. Upon their arrival, Parkingson was found with multiple gunshot wounds. The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.

Also on Wednesday, 28-year-old Garnett Hall of Morning View Drive in Flanker, St James, was shot and killed in Red Dirt district.

Reports from the Coral Gardens police are that about 5:40 p.m., Hall was among a group of men playing dominoes at a shop in the community, when a motor car drove up and men alighted from it armed with handguns. Hall received multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other men made good their escape.
