Up to late last night, the St Catherine South police said they were yet to make a breakthrough in yesterday's murder of two men in Newlands in the parish.

The dead men were not yet identified at press time.

Head of the St Catherine South police, Senior Superintendent Noel Christie, told THE WEEKEND STAR that details on the double murder were scant at the moment.

He said the police were summoned after explosions were heard along Anglin Lane some time in the evening. Upon their arrival, the police discovered the lifeless bodies of the two men on the ground. Both bodies had what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

No motive has been established for the killing, and no one has been arrested. Investigations are ongoing.
