Up to late last night, police had not established any motive or identified any suspects in connection with the gruesome killing of a three-year-old girl in St Ann.

The body of the child, Nevalesia Campbell, was found in her home town of Orange Hill, Brown's Town in the parish at about midday yesterday.

Police reported that the child and her family had retired to bed when later in the night she was discovered missing. The door to the house was open. Residents launched a search for her and her body was found hours later with several chop wounds in a gully.

The police say they are following several leads in an effort to bring the killers to justice.
