Three facing cocaine charges in St Elizabeth

Three men were arrested for suspected breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act in Black River, St Elizabeth on Monday. A motorcar was also seized.

Reports are that about 6 p.m., detectives from the Area Three Narcotics Division were carrying out a special operation in the area when a motor vehicle with tree men aboard was stopped, searched and four and a half kilograms of cocaine were found.

The estimated street value of the cocaine is J$5,261,000.

The men were taken into custody and it is expected that they will be charged after being interviewed in the presence of their attorneys. Their identities are being withheld at this time.
