Courts store robbed, cops seek help

Thieves made off with more than 400 items after breaking into the Courts furniture and appliance store in May Pen, Clarendon, between Sunday night and Monday morning, police revealed last night.

The thieves reportedly entered the store through the roof and made off with a number of items, including laptops, smartphones, headsets, and modems, among other things. Police were unable to give the exact value of the stolen items last night.

 

Selling electronics

 

As a result of the robbery, the May Pen police are appealing to members of the public to be on the alert for persons selling electronics at discounted prices. The police are also urging persons to promptly report any suspicious persons seen selling or transporting a large number of electronic devices.

In addition, those guilty of knowningly purchasing stolen goods are being warned that this is a criminal and punishable offence, and are being urged to desist immediately and report the culprits to the nearest police station or the police 119 emergency number.

Persons may also make a report using the Stay Alert application, which is available for download free from the Google Play store.
