Man held with drugs at airport faces court Friday
A Kingston man is to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Friday after he was reported held with J$66,000 worth of ganja at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston on Sunday.
Narcotics police took Sean Matthews of Arnold Road, Kingston 14 into custody for breaches of the Dangerous Drug Act after 12 pounds of ganja was found in his luggage at the Airport.
Matthews has been charged with possession, dealing in, taking preparatory steps to export and conspiracy to export ganja.
Reports are that Matthews was about to board a fight destined for Guyana when he was interviewed by lawmen and his luggage searched; the illicit drug was subsequently found. The drug has an estimated street value of J$66,000.
