Five Canadian women arrested at airport

Five Canadian women were arrested yesterday after they were found in possession of liquid cocaine at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James, police have reported.

Reports are that about 7:15 p.m., the five women checked in to board an outgoing flight destined to Canada when their belongings were searched and a total 14 bottles of liquid cocaine were found in their possession. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations

The Corporate Communications Unit said women are scheduled to be interviewed and thereafter charged with possession, dealing and taking steps preparatory to the export of cocaine.

Police officers from the Sangster International Airport, the Narcotics and Canine divisions were involved in the arrests, the CCU said.
