Four of five Canadian women charged
Four of five Canadian women who were arrested last Wednesday after they were found in possession of liquid cocaine at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James, have been charged.
The women were charged on Saturday after they were interviewed in the presence of their attorneys. The other was released.
Charged with possession, dealing, and taking steps preparatory to export cocaine are Karen Roberto, Jacques Moukoury, Kelly Barradas, and Mariah Holland. Police say they are to face the St James Parish Court next Wednesday.
Reports are that about 7:15 p.m., the five women checked in to board an outgoing flight destined for Canada when their belongings were searched and a total 14 bottles of liquid cocaine were found in their possession.
Police officers from the Sangster International Airport, the Narcotics and Canine divisions were involved in the arrests.
