May Pen police seize two guns, arrest four men

The May Pen police seized two firearms and several rounds of ammunition in separate incidents in Clarendon yesterday.

In the first incident, about 9:30 a.m., lawmen were on operation in Treadlight district in the parish when a premises was searched and a homemade firearm along with one .38 round of ammunition was seized. No one was arrested in connection with this find.

Hours later, about 4:30 p.m., police officers carried out an operation on Plaza Drive in May Pen, where one Taurus 9mm pistol and thirteen 9mm rounds of ammunition were seized during the search of a house. Four men were subsequently taken into custody in connection with the seizure. However, their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.

The police continue to probe both incidents.
