Bail extended for businessman on manslaughter charge
Clarendon businessman Peter Thompson had his bail extended when he appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court today.
He is charged with the death of Eric Reeves, 68, and Alverga Reeves 58, of Bronx New York.
When Thompson appeared before Judge Tara Reid-Carr, it was revealed that there were outstanding statements in the Crown's case.
His station bail was extended until November 8 when the matter will again be mentioned.
Allegations are that on August 19 at about 11:40 a.m., Thompson was driving a Benz sport utility vehicle along the PJ Patterson leg of the toll road in St Catherine. Upon reaching a section on the road, it is said that Thompson's vehicle collided in the back of a Nissan Tiida motor car with six person aboard.
The impact resulted in the death of the couple and injury to the other passengers.
Investigations by Garfield Byfield of the St Catherine South Traffic Department resulted in Thompson being charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter.
