Man shot during confrontation with licensed firearm holder

The Central police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the body of a man who was fatally shot during a confrontation with a licensed firearm holder in downtown Kingston last Friday.

The body is of dark complexion and is about 172 centimetres (5 feet 9 inches) long. It is believed to be in the late twenties.

Reports are that about 9 p.m., the unidentified man allegedly attacked a businessman with a knife and a piece of iron, and was shot. He succumbed to his injuries at hospital last Saturday.

Anyone who may be able to assist the police in identifying the body is being asked to contact the Central police at 922-5076, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
