Man in custody for stabbing teen lover to death
The St. Elizabeth police have arrested the prime suspect in the murder of a 16-year-old schoolgirl in the parish Monday.
Shakera Roberts, 16, of Newcombe district in St. Elizabeth was stabbed to death in her community after being called out her home by the alleged suspect.
Reports from the Pedro Plains Police are that about 3:35 a.m., Shakera allegedly had an altercation with a male counterpart during which a knife was used to inflict several wounds to her upper body.
THE STAR gathered that the police were summoned to the scene and Roberts was transported to the Black river hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Unconfirmed reports are that the accused man and Roberts were in a relationship.
He is scheduled for questioning in the presence of an attorney sometime this week in relation to her murder.
