Double murder in Hanover

A high-level probe is now under way following a double murder which was committed in the Greenland area of Hanover on Saturday, after four men travelling on motorbikes came under attack by gunmen.

Information reaching our news team is that shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday, two men were shot and killed while two others were injured on the Greenland main road in the parish.

Unconfirmed reports are that the incident involved bike taxi operators.

The dead men have been identified as 24-year-old Brian Chambers of Elgin Town district in the parish, and 22-year-old Ricardo Morgan, otherwise called 'Choppa' or 'France'.

Police reports are that the four men were travelling on motorcycles when they were pounced upon by unknown assailants who opened gunfire hitting them.

The police were summoned and the injured men rushed to hospital where Chambers and Morgan were pronounced dead.

The other two men were admitted in stable condition.
