One dead in May Pen shooting
The Clarendon police are investigating yet another murder in the parish as a result of a flare-up of gang violence in the usually troubled Effortville community.
Vendors and shoppers were sent scampering about 6 p.m. as gunshots rang out in the busy May Pen Market yesterday evening.
Moments later, the body of a man was discovered lying face down in a pool of blood with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the head and upper body.
Investigators later identified him as 35-year-old Oral Palmer of an Effortville address.
On Monday night 33-year-old Conroy Nelson was shot and killed in front of his daughter as they sat on the veranda in their yard about 6:30 p.m. in the Farm area of Effortville.
Nelson's eight-year-old daughter remains in hospital.
