Police beg witnesses in the murder of JC student to come forward

The Half-Way Tree Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) is appealing to persons who may have witnessed the killing of Jamaica College student, 14-year-old Nicholas Francis, to come forward and give information to the police.

Reports are that about 4:20 p.m. yesterday, Francis was a passenger on a coaster bus travelling along Old Hope Road when a man tried to rob him of his cell phone. Nicholas reportedly resisted and was stabbed in the left side of his chest. He was taken to hospital where he died while being treated.

Anyone with information that can assist the police in their investigations is being asked to contact the Half-Way Tree CIB at 926-2551, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
