Health Ministry puts 'dog meat' probe to rest

October 29, 2016

The Ministry of Health has scrapped plans to investigate a picture that has been circulating on the internet which suggest that Chinese Restaurants in Jamaica have been selling dog meat to the public.

"The thing about it is that we don't have any lead and it is very difficult to launch an investigation without knowing where to start," Lundie Richards, acting Chief Medical Officer at the Ministry of Health said.

Richards told THE STAR this week that the ministry would lunch an investigation whether an image of a skinned, unseasoned animal, resembling a dog, in an metal bowl, was being prepared for consumption in Jamaica.
