Woman tries to sell rented car

The police have taken three persons, including a woman, into custody in connection with the theft of a motorcar, which was found with cloned documentation.

Investigators say the affair started with the rental of a motorcar by the female suspect.

It is revealed that after the vehicle, a 2009 Nissan Bluebird, was rented in Portmore, St Catherine, the female allegedly advertised it for sale.

After not getting back the vehicle during the time the contract stipulated, and with no contact being made by the woman, a report was made to the police by the renter.

The vehicle was tracked to Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland. When the police swooped down on the scene, another suspect presented identical paperwork to that of the person who rented the vehicle.

The trio were taken into custody on larceny related charges with the female being held on suspicion of larceny by trick.
