Road fatalities projected to decrease
According to data from the Road safety Unit, fatalities for 2016 are projected to decrease by one per cent when compared with 2015.
However, the unit is urging motorists to employ defensive driving skills in the traffic environment to assist in curbing the loss of lives due to road traffic crashes.
Meanwhile, Westmoreland, St Catherine, St Elizabeth and St Andrew account for 54 per cent of the overall fatalities this year.
The number of road fatalities as of yesterday, stands at 349, three more than the corresponding period last year.
There were 382 road fatalities last year.
