Superstars light up Daybreak
It was a star-studded affair at Daybreak on Saturday morning as celebrity athletes Asafa Powell and the sprint king himself, Usain Bolt, turned up to turn out at the Heineken-sponsored event.
Held at the Michael Holding end on the lawns of Sabina Park, the fete pulled a huge crowd as partygoers donned their shades and sun hats ready to party up a storm in the early morning sun.
DJ Richie Ras was at the turntables spewing out a slew of soca hits when THE STAR arrived. His selections had them whining to the ground, sweat dripping from their foreheads.
Those who were not busy on the dance floor kept themselves occupied at the breakfast booth.
By the time the deejay switched the musical selections from soca to hip hop, and then to dancehall. The venue was full to capacity by the time DJ Kurt Riley made his way to the consoles, and promoters had to turn on the wind machines to offer patrons a cooler time as they partied.
The energy was fever pitch and Asafa and Usain refused to be left out of the action. They joined in on the fun dancing up a storm as they soaked up the entertainment.
