Five rushed to hospital after three-vehicle collision

January 06, 2017

One man is now in hospital nursing injuries he sustained in a three-vehicle collision along the Albion main road in St Thomas last evening.

Four others, who were also rushed to hospital, have since been treated and released.

Reports reaching THE WEEKEND STAR are that the incident occurred sometime after 6 p.m. and involved a truck and two motor cars.

It is further reported that a Toyota Corolla travelling from Kingston tried to overtake a line of traffic, almost colliding with a truck travelling in the opposite direction.

The truck driver reportedly swerved to avoid a head-on collision. Both the truck and the Toyota Coralla collided with the Suzuki Vitara which was already in the traffic.

This resulted in a pile-up of traffic that extended as far as the Grants Pen community which is about 6.5 kilometres from Albion.

A wrecker arrived on the scene two hours later to remove the vehicles.
