A St Elizabeth female who was held with more than 100 pounds of ganja along the Spanish Town Bypass was granted bail in the sum of $700,000 in the St Catherine Parish Court last Friday.

She is Shantel Campbell, a 36-year-old labourer, of Slight district in St Elizabeth.

When Campbell appeared before Senior Parish Judge Tara Reid-Carr, she was granted bail on condition that she reappears in court on March 3, when the matter will again be mentioned.

Allegations are that on January 4, a vehicle being driven by Campbell was stopped by the police.

During a search of the vehicle, ganja weighing more than 100 pounds was found inside. Campbell was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of ganja, dealing in ganja, and trafficking ganja

Further investigations were conducted, and she was formally charged by the police.
