Woman sentenced for stealing TV
Spanish Town resident Shantal Robinson was given a nine- month suspended sentence for housebreaking and larceny when she appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court last Friday.
Robinson was sentenced when she appeared before Parish Judge Grace Henry-McKenzie.
The accused had previously pleaded not guilty, but changed her plea after consultation with her lawyer Walter Melbourne.
The lawyer then requested a non-custodial sentence for Robinson.
She was warned that if she commits any crime within nine months then sentence would be activated.
Allegations are that the accused was found in possession of a television set that was stolen from the complainant's home which had been broken into.
The matter was reported. An investigation was launched, which resulted in Robinson being charged.
