Bearer arrested for making up $1 million robbery story

A St Catherine man who reportedly told police he was robbed of $1 million by armed men has found himself in trouble with the law.

The man, a bearer of Spanish Town, St Catherine, was charged with creating public mischief.

Reports are that on Friday, January 20, 2017, the bearer was sent to withdrew $1 million from a financial institution in Portmore, St Catherine. He later turned up at the Portmore Police Station in St Catherine and reported that he was robbed of the money by four men, two of whom were armed with guns.

The police started to investigate a case of robbery but later decided to charge him with public mischief.
