Three-vehicle collision leaves one dead
A three-vehicle collision along the Salt Marsh leg of the Northern Coastal Highway yesterday claimed one life and left several others injured.
Dead is 25-year-old Christopher Cooper of a St Ann address.
According to the Falmouth Police Traffic Department, Cooper was the driver of a Toyota Yaris motor car, which was heading towards Falmouth about 1:30 p.m. with three passengers aboard.
THE STAR gathered that Cooper lost control of his vehicle and collided with a Nissan AD Wagon motor car, which then blocked the path of a bus transporting tourists to the Sangster International Airport.
When THE STAR arrived on the scene, police personnel were busy clearing the debris, which resulted from the traffic accident.
THE STAR was told that Cooper sustained head injuries and was rushed to the Falmouth Public General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A tourist, who was a passenger on the bus, and the other occupants of the other two vehicles were also hospitalised.
