Senior citizen on sex charge

February 20, 2017

A senior citizen who attended court to pay child support has found himself in deeper trouble after being charged with having sex with a person under the age of 16.

The 72-year-old accused had gone to the Family Court to honour the money he was to provide for a six-year-old boy.

But things took a turn when, during the perusal of a document from the Probation's Department, it was revealed the mother was impregnated before she turned 16.

Before the revelation was made, the accused was at court ranting about having to pay the $2,500 weekly allowance.

He started quarrelling that he is only willing to pay $1,000 weekly instead.

He was inside and constantly arguing that the payment was too "heavy" and that he cannot manage anything more.

Despite being advised to stop his bad behaviour, he persisted and his behaviour became unacceptable.

After the mother's age was declared, the judge then ordered the man be taken into police custody.
