Don Creary shuns sexual misconduct
Don Creary on Friday declared that he "repudiates" acts of sexual misconduct after he was freed of charges that he raped a 15-year-old girl.
"He repudiates such alleged conduct and is pleased that, after a protracted period, justice has finally been served," a statement issued through communications executive Ayesha Creary said.
Creary, a former Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) councillor, and his co-accused Shaneke Williams were freed in the Home Circuit Court in Kingston after the complainant indicated that she did not want to proceed with the case.
As a result, prosecutors offered no further evidence against the former councillor for the Castleton Division of the St Mary Municipal Corporation.
Creary and Williams were arrested and charged by the police in 2015 for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old girl in an apartment in St Mary after serving her alcohol.
Creary had maintained his innocence.
