The Kingston police were kept busy throughout yesterday after gunmen shot two men in the morning, and another in the evening.

The first was a drive by shooting which occurred at about 10 a.m., on Luke Lane. Reports from the police's Constabulary Communications Unit (CCU) are that a group of persons were standing along the lane when a motor vehicle drove up, and armed men opened fire hitting two men.

They were taken to hospital where one underwent emergency surgery. The central Kingston police are investigating this incident.

Later, at about 5:40 p.m., another man was shot and injured on Petcheon Street. The police say they learned of the incident when the injured man turned up at the Kingston Public Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.

Up to press time last night, the police said they were yet to establish a motive for the shootings, and could not ascertain if they were connected.
