A man has been freed of sexually assaulting two females.

He is Garfield Williams, 30-year-old labourer of Portsmouth, Portmore in St Catherine.

The successful no-case submission was made in the St Catherine Parish Court on Wednesday by attorney Walter Melbourne.

Melbourne said there were glaring discrepancies in the Crown's case. He had pointed out that his client should be free as he was not positively identified by one of the witnesses.

He further submitted there were discrepancies in the evidence and that if they weren't corroborated, the accused should be freed.

The trial judge upheld the submission made by Melbourne and freed his client.

Williams was arrested and charged with exposing himself to the two complainants and fondling them.

An investigation resulted in his arrest. He made numerous court appearances and maintained his innocence throughout.
