Usain Bolt last Friday journeyed to Long Road, Portland, to assist digging the grave of his close friend Germaine Mason.

Mason, an Olympic silver medallist, died on April 20 after the motorcycle he was driving crashed along the Palisdoes strip in Kingston.

In a video posted on Facebook, Bolt was seen slinging a pickaxe at the spot where Mason's body will be buried.

Also making the trip to Portland were former national footballer Ricardo Gardner and sprinter Michael Frater.

Mason's funeral will be held at the Hagley Park Seventh-day Adventist Church in Kingston next Sunday before the internment in Long Road.
