The Guanoboa Vale police in the St Catherine North Division have launched a probe in a case of sacrilege which was allegedly committed at the Kitson Town Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Thieves last Sabbath entered the place of worship and made off with valuable equipment.

"The place was broken into and entry was gained by the removal of louvre blades and cutting of a grille. The church loss US$500, one 32-inch television set, amplifier and four speakers," Detective Constable Barrington Brown said.

He said that the police have launched an intensive investigation in the incident, which is believed to have been committed between 7 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Saturday.
