Woman found dead in water tank
The St Ann police say there is no sign of foul play following yesterday's discovery of the body of an elderly woman in a water tank in Alexandria in the parish.
The deceased has been identified as 62 year-old Beverlyn Brown-Edwards of a Dumbarton address.
THE WEEKEND STAR was told that Brown-Edwards was acting senile hours before the incident, however she was ushered to bed by family members.
Area commander for the parish, Superintendent Gary Francis told THE WEEKEND STAR, "She was with relatives and sometime in the night it was reported that she was seen behaving somewhat senile but she was ushered back to bed."
Our news team gathered that sometime after 5 a.m., her room was checked and it was discovered that she was missing.
Francis said, "The neighbours were alerted and during a search of the area she was seen in the water tank suspected to have drowned. The body was removed from the tank. There is no signs of foul play however investigations are continuing in that regard."
