Girl who accepted modelling job via social media is allegedly raped
A teenage girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by men in St James who paid money in order to have access to her body.
The victim, who is a student, said she accepted an invitation to become a member of a model agency. However, she said that she was held against her will at a house in Flanker, and was forced to carry out lewd and sexual acts with various males, in exchange for money.
Police investigators say the alleged sexual acts were also taped. Videos and images were reportedly released on at least two popular social media websites.
Arising out of the incident, Keron Lucien Watson, a computer programmer of Providence Heights, Flanker, has been charged with three counts of human trafficking, facilitating trafficking in persons, and living on the earnings of prostitution. He appeared in the St James Parish Court on May 17 and was remanded. He is booked to return on June 21.
