British High Commissioner David Fitton has responded to a story published in THE STAR yesterday by saying the headline is both misleading and incorrect.

The statement reads: "UK Travel advice, as it relates to terrorism globally, has been updated following a review of the way in which the UK government describes the threat from terrorism in travel advice for all countries and territories.

The UK travel advice for Jamaica is clear, does not mention any specific threat in Jamaica, and is similar to that used in other territories.

All travel advice updates made as a result of the new language are marked as such, indicating that they are not the result of new information. "
