FLOW opens donation line for St Ann's Bay hospital
A text donation line has been established to facilitate donations to the St Ann's Bay Hospital Paediatric Ward.
Managed by telecommunications firm Flow, the line will facilitate well-needed contributions from members of the public for the provision of ongoing training, services and essential equipment to the medical facility which serves children in St. Ann and its surrounding parishes.
Flow has also partnered with the Issa Trust Foundation to provide support through sponsorship of a benefit concert, featuring the Australian rock duo of Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock and local songstress Tessanne Chin, and dubbed 'An Evening with Air Supply'.
The concert will take place on Saturday at the Couples San Souci Resort.
"Our overall mission is to help improve the quality of the paediatric health care offered at the institution and the support of as many Jamaicans as possible is needed to help make this goal a reality. We are making an urgent appeal to as many Jamaicans as possible to support the cause and to send as many texts messages as possible as we aim to provide urgently needed supplies and machinery," said Paul Issa, foundation chairman.
"It is a great honour for us to partner with the Issa Trust Foundation to make such a contribution to the St Ann's Bay Hospital which is in dire need of financial support. As a responsible member of corporate Jamaica, we feel duty bound to give any assistance we can to this worthy cause," said Kim Lee, Flow's head of retail marketing and television.
Subscribers of both mobile networks can make direct donations to the facility by sending a text message to 444-4204. Each text message received will provide the Hospital with a donation of $50.
The text message donation line provided by Flow remains open until June 25.
