American pilot held at NMIA for bullet

An American national was arrested and charged yesterday following the seizure of one 9 mm Luger round of ammunition at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston.

Charged with illegal possession of ammunition and unlawful attempt to take ammunition on board an aircraft is 54-year-old Michael Gorham, a pilot, of the US state of Georgia.

Reports are that about 8:45 a.m., during security checks, one round of ammunition was found in Gorham's luggage. He was subsequently arrested and charged.

He is schedule to appear before the Corporate Area Parish Court on Friday, July 14.
