Two prisoners recaptured, three still on the run

Two of the five prisoners who escaped from the Ocho Rios Police Lock-Up in St. Ann on Friday, August 11 about 4 a.m., during a routine cell check have been recaptured.

They are Gary Ferguson, 48, of Dunsville, St Ann and David Anderson, 29, of Drax Hall, also in the parish. 

Ferguson was jailed for unlawful possession of property while Anderson is wanted for rape and other offences.

Ferguson was found in a hut in Content Gardens in the parish about 3 p.m. on Friday, August 11.

Anderson was found at a house in Islington, St. Mary late Friday, August 11.

Three escapees remain on the run. They are: Nicholas Massop, 21, of Main Street, Pineapple, Ocho Rios, St Ann; Renardo Williams, 26, otherwise called ‘Tanty’, of Top Milford, Ocho Rios; and Leroy Laud, 61, of Paggee, Port Maria, St Mary. 

Massop is wanted for murder, shooting with intent and illegal possession of firearm. He is believed to frequent Boscobel, St Mary and Spanish Town, St Catherine.

Williams is wanted for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition. He is believed to frequent the Ocho Rios area.

 He is wanted for illegal possession of firearm. Laud is believed to frequent Paggee, St Mary.

The police are urging the men to turn themselves in and are reminding family members and residents that it is an offence to harbour a criminal.                                      

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of these escapees is being asked to contact the Ocho Rios police at 974-2533, police 119, Crime Stop at 311, 811 or the nearest police station.
