Popular fashion designer found dead at home
Popular fashion designer Dexter Pottinger was found dead at his home located at Yarico Place in St Andrew yesterday evening.
When THE WEEKEND STAR arrived on the scene at about 7 p.m. yesterday, the area surrounding Pottinger's home was cordoned off with crime scene tape to keep the crowd away, and members of the forensic team were getting ready to enter the house.
According to a detective on the scene, Pottinger's body was discovered in his bedroom in a decomposing state by his brother. He said blood stains were splattered all over the room.
A source told THE WEEKEND STAR that neighbours heard screams coming from his house in the wee hours of the morning earlier in the week.
As news of his death spread, a group of individuals gathered outside his home. Present on the scene were his family members and friends, including well-known personalities such as Rohan Perry and Stacious. Some persons broke down in tears and had to be consoled by others.
While police were busy scouring the crime scene for possible clues, some persons theorised that his attackers may have been known to him as there was no sign of forced entry.
Neighbours said that at least one television set and his cell phone were missing.
Up to press time, police were still on the scene, and there was no motive for the murder.
